On Thursday, September 16th, 2023, Republican congressional candidate Lauren Boebert apologized for her involvement in a "Beetlejuice" theater incident and vaping at a local movie theater in Colorado. The incident, which happened on Tuesday, September 14th, sparked public outrage and caused the theater to temporarily close its doors.

In a statement released on Thursday, Boebert said, "I apologize for any disruption I may have caused at the theater. I was having a good time and had no intention of causing distress to anyone else. I regret my actions and will take this as a learning experience."

According to witnesses, Boebert was using a vape pen during the movie and began shouting out lines from the film. The theater manager asked her to leave, and Boebert refused before eventually being escorted out by security.

Following the incident, Boebert's campaign released a statement saying, "Lauren apologizes for her behavior and any disruption it caused. She respects the theater and its employees and will make sure to be more mindful of her actions in the future."

Boebert is currently running for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District seat. She has been endorsed by President Donald Trump and has been a vocal opponent of gun control measures.

The theater incident is the latest in a series of controversies surrounding Boebert. In August, she was accused of carrying a concealed weapon into a restaurant. She has also been criticized for making false claims about the Black Lives Matter movement and for spreading conspiracy theories about Covid-19.

Despite the controversies, Boebert remains popular among voters in the district. She is expected to face off against Democratic candidate Diane Mitsch Bush in the November election.
