The final day of group play in the inaugural NBA in-season tournament brought excitement and tension to the league as the teams competed for a spot in the knockout round. The Celtics, Magic, and Nets were all tied at the top of East Group C, with the Celtics needing a blowout win over the Bulls to top the Magic's +22 margin. The Celtics delivered with a 124-97 win, securing their spot in the quarterfinals.

In East Group B, the Bucks faced the Miami Heat, who were without their star player, Jimmy Butler. The Bucks won with a record of 4-0, while the Heat put up a good fight but ultimately lost. The Knicks, who were watching the game closely, ended up settling for the East wild card.

The final game of the night was between the Kings and the Warriors, who both had something to play for. The Warriors needed to win by 12 to take Group C, while the Kings only needed to win or lose by 11 or less. The game was neck and neck, with the Warriors leading by as much as 24 points late in the second quarter. However, the Kings staged a furious comeback, erasing the group-clinching margin and eventually winning the game.

The semifinals and finals of the NBA in-season tournament are scheduled for December 7 and 9 in Las Vegas. All games, except for the final, will count towards regular-season records, with a $500,000 payout going to every player and coach on the winning team. All quarterfinal teams are guaranteed payouts of at least $50,000.
